The monthly Travel News poll asking what percentage of their regular salary readers received last month, shows they are split into roughly three groups.
A fortunate 37% of readers were paid upwards of 60% of their salary – fortunate but hard-pressed as they take on the work of their missing colleagues.
The middle group, 25% of readers, were paid 20%-60% of their normal pay.
The unfortunate largest group, making up 38% of the total of 540 responses, got nothing at all or a maximum of 19% of their pay. This percentage grew from 36% the previous month.
As the Third Wave of COVID grew, the number of readers getting full pay shrivelled from 17% in May to 14% in June.
Here are the poll results for June and May.
