AUGUSTO Fantozzi, Alitalia’s extraordinary administrator, has confirmed that the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) granted the airline a temporary licence, valid until March 1, 2009. The decision was taken after the Italian investor group, Compagnia Aerea Italiana (CAI), submitted a new proposition to buy several of the Alitalia Group’s assets. In communication sent to the airline, Enac stated that the temporary licence was granted subject to certain conditions including a monthly check on Alitalia’s economic and financial requisites.
