Aquila gets two buffalo

THE four-star Aquila Private Game Reserve in the Western Cape took ownership of two buffalo on July 27, making it the game reserve closest to Cape Town to have four of the Big Five. The two bulls are aged between five and six years old and were transported from Mpumalanga. According to the Aquila, in the future more buffalo will be brought in to create a larger herd. The buffalo’s eating patterns will be monitored on a daily basis to check if they are eating sufficiently and also adapting to the new environment. (Lucy Siebert)
