NEW Zealand's largest city, Auckland, will be home to the world's first harbour bridge bungy jump when AJ Hackett Bungy launches its operation there in early 2003. The bungy jump - which will see jumpers leap 40 metres from a purpose built jump pod installed under the Auckland Harbour Bridge - is expected to be up and running by January 2003. The jump will cost NZ$125 (around R617), while spectators will be charged $39 (R192) to view the jumps from a specially built clip-on viewing platform. (Miguel de Sousa)
