BA to recruit 300 new staff members

BRITISH Airways is planning to recruit 300 cabin crew because staff shortages have forced the airline to close its first-class service on certain flights, reports the UK’s Times newspaper. The airline had received complaints from passengers who had been downgraded despite spending thousands of pounds on their first-class tickets. According to The Times, the complaints come after BA downsized its workforce by 12 000 jobs over two years. A recruitment drive for 300 crew and 100 staff for check in-desks has subsequently been launched to address the shortages. (Natalia Thomson)
