BREAKING NEWS: Disruptions to Contiki Tours

CONTIKI Tours advised TNN the following tours could not depart Lauterbrunnen today due to floods and road closures. The tourists will remain in Lauterbrunnen at the same accommodation for a third night tonight (August 23rd). Assuming that the road is reopened tomorrow the tours will travel as follows: 1) BBEW 771 - will travel to Paris for one night. A shuttle coach will be provided allowing the group to follow their normal 2nd night Paris itinerary and complete a revised illuminations tour. 2) CCSE 951 - will not overnight in St Goar but will travel all the way to Amsterdam (with the use of a second driver) where they will follow their normal program upon arrival. 3) BBEM 386 - will not overnight in Munich but will travel to Innsbruck where they will follow their normal program upon arrival. 4) Group BBHX 339 is not able to travel to Engelberg, Switzerland tomorrow (August 24) as a result of road closures due to floods. The group has instead been confirmed at the Hotel Steghof (Tel: +41 41 360 4343 Fax: +41 41 360 7781) in Lucerne for August 24th and 25th. All clients are safe and accounted for however there is a power outage in the town so communication with clients will prove to be difficult for the time being. (Dorine Berger)
