AN announcement is expected tomorrow that Lufthansa will start a direct non-stop flight between Frankfurt and Cape Town on 15 October. The flight will be daily operated by an Airbus 340-300. The new service will lop two hours off current transit times and will be overnight in both directions. The three-class service will replace the Munich flights for the time being, TNN understands. Lufthansa will use a Boeing 747 for its daily Frankfurt – Johannesburg flights.
