FOLLOWING a meeting today, February 16, between Asata’s technical committee, SAA, Iata and the GDSs, the way ahead appears clear for nett fares to kick in on May 1. Asata had agreed to the move to nett fares provided no nett fare was displayed on the ticket and that only one credit card swipe was needed instead of the current two. Amanda Harrod, Asata’s retail council chairperson said two solutions had been identified. The technical committee will be meeting again in the coming week to further investigate these solutions.
