THE Australian Travel Safari is back in South Africa. The workshops will be held in Johannesburg (the Hilton, August 1), Durban (the Hilton, August 2) and Cape Town (the Arabella Sheraton, August 3) and will be an opportunity for agents to collect the latest Tourism Australia official literature and trade information and get hands-on training from the official body. According to Tourism Australia statistics, the market from SA has seen growth of 9% year on year, for the first six months of 2006. Agents will meet with representatives from seven destinations, operators, and representatives from Tourism Australia, Qantas Airways, Qantas Holidays, Holiday Tours and the Australian High Commission (enabling agents to discuss their visa concerns, and get information on procedures and paperwork for visas to Australia.) Eight lucky agents will win Qantas tickets taking them on an educational later in the year to Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland. Last-minute registrations can be made with Chantal Matthee at Lloyd Orr Communications, chantal@lloydorr.com Kate Nathan (katen@nowmedia.co.za)
