Tintswalo Atlantic in Hout Bay has reopened after being completely rebuilt following a fire that burned down the property.
Owners, Gaye and Ernest Corbett and Lisa and Warwick Goosen, officially opened the lodge to media and special guests on October 28.
Gaye was instrumental in sourcing furniture and creating mosaics, to redecorating the bathrooms by hand during the lodge’s rebuild.
“The greatest challenge initially was just getting over the shock of losing the lodge. We had to get to grips with the fact that it was all gone and to somehow see the rebuild as an exciting challenge and not a complete loss, which is what it felt like after the fire,” said Gaye.
