THIRTEEN global design gurus will descend on the five-star The Table Bay At the Waterfront hotel in Cape Town for two days from February 28 to attend the 4th International Design Indaba. The event is reportedly viewed as one of the highlights of the Southern Hemisphere's design conference calendar.
Sun International is sponsoring the group of 13's accommodation for the Indaba that will be attended by 700 design professionals in the city's Nico Theatre Complex.
"Having the Table Bay host this group is wonderful and entirely appropriate to the subject of our conference," says Shaheda Sayed, event director.
"The hotel itself is creatively stimulating, enhanced by its commanding position on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront of Cape Town, and we want to have it recognised as an international centre for original thought in design and to underline its First World Ranking."
International speakers to be hosted at the Table Bay include high profile experts and editorial commentators from as far afield as New York, Japan and the UK.
Grant Ruddiman, newly appointed gm of the Table Bay, said that Sun International relies strongly on cutting edge design in all facets of its business and is fully aware of the visual stimuli provided by good design.
