Discounted companion fare for Virgin

VIRGIN Atlantic Airways has a new special Upper Class fare that sees companions travelling with passengers (who pay the full fare for Upper Class tickets) charged only 50% of the full fare. The full Johannesburg-London return fare is R25 410 and the companion fare R12 705. On the return Cape Town-London service full fare is R26 980 and the companion rate R13 490. These rates all exclude taxes. A passenger paying the full amount will earn the full flying club miles, whereas his/her companion, paying the discounted fare, will earn 50% of the miles. All the privileges that Upper Class passengers enjoy still apply, provided the two passengers travel together. This fare is valid until 15 February 2002. (Kim Cochrane)
