EMIRATES has announced that with immediate effect, a visa will be required for all passengers travelling to New Zealand via Melbourne on Emirates, as a terminal change in Melbourne is required. The airline said it also suggests that passengers transiting via Sydney and Brisbane get a transit visa in case of delays. Transit visas are currently issued free of charge by the Australian Embassy.
