EMIRATES unveiled plans to introduce dedicated airport lounges in several destinations across its network, which will cater to its first and business class passengers, on May 6. The airline will invest more than $13,6m (R96,2m) over the next two years to develop its own lounges. Emirates’ first and business class passengers travelling outside of Dubai currently access lounge services provided by partner airlines, or the local airport operator. The lounges will include showers, leather couches, Internet access facilities and 24-hour refreshments with full bar service. (Lucy Siebert)
