Ezemvelo auction to include rhino "package"

THE shopping list at this year's 15th annual Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Hluhluwe-iMfolozi game auction will include six black rhinos. Black rhinos did not feature at last year's auction due to population sparsity across Ezemvelo reserves. That partly explained the dismal R11m turnover, compared to the record R22m the previous year when a package of six black rhinos went for a staggering R3,3m. The rhinos this year are likely to fetch over R600 000 each at the auction on June 21 and are being promoted as a single "package" to be a founder population on a large game reserve (African Eye News Service)
