FlySafair tickets will be bookable on Hahn Air Systems from the end of October, while its inventory will become available on Amadeus and Travelport by the end of November.
Distributing the airline’s inventory via these systems will allow FlySafair to offer a more competitive product in the local market, says FlySafair vp: distribution and sales, Kirby Gordon.
“It’s been widely reported that there is excess seat capacity in the local market, which is great for local fliers because it tends to keep fares low, so it’s key that we as an industry support international tourism too by partnering with these global distribution systems to allow our tickets to be booked in international markets in their local currency,” Kirby says.
This extended distribution base also established a strong platform on which the airline can grow, especially when it comes to potentially flying beyond the borders of South Africa.
“When looking at international flights it’s essential that one is able to actively sell tickets on both sides of the border,” says Kirby.
