General strike in Spain: IB issues travel advisory

AS a result of the general strike in Spain called for September 29, Iberia has issued the following travel advisory:

Customers holding tickets to fly on that date will be permitted to postpone them without penalty for any date up to November 30, 2010. The deadline for requesting the change is September 28. All Iberia tickets of the series IB075, IB5000, IB7000 and IB8000 are eligible, including those for flights operated by other companies.

Customers should contact the travel agents where they bought their tickets or contact the Iberia call centre directly by telephone if they acquired them directly from the airline.

As soon at it is available, Iberia will issue information about the minimum services to be carried out on the day of the strike. Passengers should check the Iberia website www.iberia.com, or the airline's twitter account, where they can also learn about travel alternatives.

Passengers with reservations for September 29 flights are advised to come to the airport as early as possible in case the strike interferes with access by public or private transport.
