Global travel report to be released at ITB

IPK INTERNATIONAL has released salient points in its annual World Travel Trend Report. The complete report will be presented at the ITB Congress Market Trends & Innovations on March 10. The market research and consultancy organisation predicted a growth in tourism demand of between 4% and 6%. As indicated by the ITB World Travel Trend Report, actual growth, compared with the previous year, was between 5% and 6%. This growth was driven primarily by the Asia / Pacific region and by Africa, both with 8,7%. The report also highlights the trend of increasing Internet use for reservations. Forty per cent of the information about travel is now obtained from the Internet, which is also being used to an increasing extent for making bookings.
