High-level delegation to attend world congress in SA

NEWLY-APPOINTED US Assistant Secretary of State, Walter Kansteiner, will head up the US delegation of members of Congress attending the 7th World Wilderness Congress (WWC) to be held in Port Elizabeth in November this year. It will be his first official visit to Africa after taking office, according to WWC executive director, Andrew Muir. "The presence of this high-level delegation confirms the importance of the congress as the only public forum of its kind in the world. The WWC is not a gathering of specialists in any one particular field, it is a meeting place of business, politicians and environmentalists." (Adéle Mackenzie)
