Holiday Inn SA tops world-class standards

RESULTS of this year’s international Six Continents Hotels property evaluation sees top accolades going to the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Garden Court and Express brands in South Africa, according to Helder Pereira, the md of Southern Sun Hotels. Six Continents Hotels is the international franchiser of the Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands. South African hotels in these brand categories are operated by Southern Sun hotels, under licence from Six Continents. Comments Helder: “Audits of this nature are extremely beneficial as they provide valuable benchmarks against which we can monitor our performance. It is extremely encouraging to see our brands can not only stand up to international scrutiny, but in most cases, exceed international standards Notable achievements include The Holiday Inn Garden Court Sandton which obtained the highest result in South Africa by obtaining an overall score of 997 out of a possible thousand points. Of the 29 hotels evaluated,14 scored 100% for cleanliness. “When one considers that last year only 10 hotels of a total of 31 achieved this rating, this is truly a remarkable increase,” concludes Pereira.
