GAUTENG residents who wish to participate in the Accommodation Programme will now pay just R250 for assessment and accreditation per house with up to two rooms to hire. An additional fee of R50 per room is applicable thereafter. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) revised the fee structure, based on input received from various stakeholders, including potential participants and the media. Making the announcement, TGCSA chairperson, Anitha Soni said: "In the spirit of Team South Africa, we considered all submissions on the matter, and revised our fee structure accordingly." The TGCSA, the only government-mandated tourism quality assurance organisation in South Africa, was appointed by the Johannesburg World Summit Company (Jowsco) as the official tourism quality assurance partner for the Summit. "We are confident that this new fee structure will encourage many Gauteng residents to become part of this historical event," concluded Soni. (Adéle Mackenzie)
