Hunting ranch extends its reach

POPALLIN Ranch in the Northern Province, has expanded its mainly hunting business to include leisure tourism and the smaller conference market with the recent opening of De Wet's camp on the property.
"We have four of the Big Five on our ranch - all except lion - and we offer much more than hunting, including canoeing, hiking, horse-riding and bird watching. We therefore decided to look at catering for a wider target market," says marketing director Antoinette Bezuidenhout.
According to her, De Wet's Camp - which compliments the two existing camps, Bush Camp and Zebra Camp - has nine en-suite chalets, a gymnasium and a conference centre for up to 50 people due to open in March/April.
