INDABA organisers RAI Travel Exhibitions say that with only two weeks to go before the grand finale, arrangements are being made to ensure the success of Africa's premier travel and tourism show. The International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban is similarly in the final phase of preparations and has made available additional exhibition space through the construction of a semi-permanent structure linking the ICC to the Durban Exhibition Centre. According to South African Tourism's chief: corporate affairs, Rehana Asmal, the additional space means that Indaba will be able to accommodate more SMMEs (small medium and micro enterprises) and tourism operators to ensure international exposure for them. "Delegates to Indaba 2001will be treated to a feast of travel options, from rustic bush safaris and adventure tours, to world-class accommodation at five-star hotels in South African cities and country hideaways. Exhibitor feedback in the run-up to the show has revealed a host of new products, with many exhibitors viewing Indaba 2001 as the ideal platform from which to launch their offerings onto the local and international stage," said Asmal. Indaba kicks off on April 21 and lasts till April 24. (Miguel de Sousa)
