Kenya drops transport tax

A TAX on the transportation of tourists in Kenya, introduced with the 2008 Finance Bill, has been waived. The tax would have caused immediate price increases in accommodation, tours and safaris, making Kenya a more expensive destination. It was removed after pressure from Kenya’s Tourism Ministry. This is according to Travelinfo’s City Alerts, a unique reference tool and global travel advisory guide that warns and informs. City Alerts covers the latest travel tips and info for over 300 cities in 161 countries.
