King Shaka Airport gets the go ahead

THE construction of the King Shaka Airport at La Mercy north of Durban is still on the cards. This according to an article in the Business Report published last week Friday. The KwaZulu Natal government announced last week that it would invite tender bids for the construction of the terminal building and other infrastructure in the next six months. The terminal, to cost in the region of R1,7bn will not be built or managed by the Airports Company South Africa. Acsa still owns the current international Airport, south of central Durban.
