Kulula.com celebrated the arrival of its new Boeing 737-800 on July 20, by giving passengers VIP treatment on a flight from Lanseria to Cape Town.
All the frills usually reserved for VIPs were rolled out, with a drumming band marching around the airport and some kulula passengers arriving in motorcades.
On the flight, passengers were treated to a three-course breakfast served by crew dressed in tuxedos and champagne was served in crystal glasses.
Just before descent into Cape Town, passengers enjoyed a special Boeing ‘Sky’ light show while Brenda Thulo sung one of Puccini’s arias in the background.
Erik Venter, kulula.com ceo, said: “This performance on descent is a first for kulula and Boeing International – ending our celebrations on a high note.”
