Mango Airlines today announced that it would reduce fares on all routes.
The move is a strategy by the airline to pass on to travellers the benefit of the recent drop in the cost of fuel, despite currency weakness that continues to impact input costs.
Travellers should expect to pay from R395 one way between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, with reductions in fares across all other network points to be rolled out this week. Longer routes, including Johannesburg to Cape Town, will start from R700, according to Mango spokesman, Hein Kaiser. Hein says these new fares do not include taxes, as those are third-party charges.
The airline will also continue to monitor the downward movement in the cost of fuel and, should further benefit be evidenced, adjustments will be effected.
