Marriott to triple its Mexico presence

MARRIOTT International has signed agreements that it expects will nearly triple its presence in Mexico. They involve 29 branded Marriott hotels in Mexico, including several Courtyard by Marriott properties throughout the country, a 250-room Puerto Penasco Marriott Resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast, a 450-room JW Marriott Milla de Oro Resort and Spa and a 150-room Renaissance Milla de Oro Resort, both of which will be located on Riviera Maya. Other developments include a 320-room Mexico Marriott Reforma Hotel, expected to open later this year, a 286-room Aquascalientes Marriott Hotel set for completion in 2009, and a 290-room Merida Marriott Hotel expected to open in 2010.
