Southern Sun Hotels has announced that the Southern Sun Elangeni and the Southern Sun North Beach will be combined to become the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani, making it the largest hotel in KwaZulu Natal.
Reconstruction on the new ‘mega’ hotel has begun and it is expected to launch on May 10. Work takes place from 08h00 until 16h00 and the affected areas are limited to the pool deck, lobby area, port-cochère, and the painting of the exterior of the building. All other areas and facilities are operational.
The new hotel will feature 734 rooms, two breakfast venues, two gyms, three swimming pools, 17 conference rooms, nine restaurants and bars.
“We will make every effort to ensure that the experience of our guests will not be unduly affected during this period. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to you and your clients,” said a statement by Tsogo Sun Hotels.
