WHEN I saw an entire book dedicated to the abuse of the English language as found on signs around the world by travellers, I couldn’t resist but buy one. To follow is an extract from ‘Getaway’ magazine’s ‘funny signs’ book which records photographs of signs by its readers. Here is one of my favourites. It’s a sign of rules for bathers at a public swimming pool in Thailand which reads: …..Practice of swimming poon…… 1. Take a bath before 2. Take off shoe before come in poon area 3. Have swimming suit 4. No put ornament 5. No run and play a round the poon 6. No urine and expectoate in the poon 7. No eating 8. Before jumping must looking surely 9. Every body must help yourself and kid not over 5 year must have parent 10. If have emergency inform officer 11. No smoking 12. Must belive officer (Miguel de Sousa)
Monday morning smile: don’t pee in my poon!
