Most houses are painted in neutrals or pastels, however one village in Indonesia has done the complete opposite and painted their houses in bright rainbow colours!
Kampung Pelangi in Randusari underwent a colourful transformation in the hope of attracting tourists to the former slum. Each house has been painted a minimum of three colours, with 3D artwork on many of the walls. The street and bridges did not escape this transformation and are just as colourful.
This project has helped clean up the village, which used to be a slum, making Kampung Pelangi more than just fun to look at. It has made a real impact on the lives of the people in the village and will help encourage them with further beautification processes such as cleaning the local river.
