PORT Elizabeth's No 7 Castle Hill, one of the city's prime historic tourist attractions, has been saved from closure for three months, an anonymous donor having rescued the museum by paying the salary of a curator for three months. The museum had been due to close today due to lack of funding from local government. "The donor has really come to our aid by giving us money to bridge the gap until government comes up with the salary, " said museum historian Jenny Bennie. Funds from the provincial Museum and Heritage Department were cut in 1998 and since then, Bayworld, the Port Elizabeth Oceanarium, Tropical House and Museum Complex has had to foot the bills but now can't afford to continue.
