New airlines for Mauritius

THE new Mauritian minister of tourism, Xavier-Luc Duval, recently announced a new tourism policy which largely focuses on air access. According to international news reports, Duval announced a low-cost airline would serve Africa and the Indian Ocean region in order to boost the duty-free sector. Duval reportedly also confirmed the arrival of a third carrier between France and Mauritius and a third between the UK and Mauritius, thus ending the monopoly of Air Mauritius, Air France and British Airways on these routes.
