COMAIR Ltd is upgrading its fleet by acquiring four Boeing 737-300 aircraft at a cost of R220m. The airline will use the aircraft to serve British Airways’ domestic and regional routes. Comair Ltd expects the first aircraft in May 2005. The remaining three will be brought into service during the course of the year. Piet van Hoven, managing director for Comair Ltd, said the decision to buy more aircraft was prompted both by the favourable exchange rate and indications that aircraft prices, which plunged after September 2001, are beginning to recover.
