New cruise line to enter industry

‘OCEANA Cruises’, a new cruise line which will make use of former Renaissance Cruises ships, is expected to be launched by Frank Del Rio, former ceo of Renaissance, and Joe Watters, formerly president of Crystal Cruises. The new company reportedly plans to purchase up to three of the Renaissance vessels in accordance with an agreement reached with Cruiseinvest, the current owner of the remaining Renaissance ships. The line will offer an ‘upper premium’ experience and will work closely with the travel agent community, Watters - the proposed chairman for Oceana Cruises - has been quoted saying.
