THE African Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) is expanding its network. “We’re trying to move away from the perception that the organisation is solely UK-based and have created a new way of communicating,” says ATTA ceo, Nigel Vere Nicoll. The organisation is establishing a pan-European presence, with the addition of Italian and French members. ATTA will also focus its efforts on the West African tourism market. ATTA aims to link tourism suppliers with the markets they want, says Vere Nicoll, who explains that each area will have an appointed consul, who will have the authority to host functions under the ATTA banner and apply for funding.
