ZAMBEZI Elephant Trails has transferred its elephant back safari operation to Zambia and will now be offering its half day trips at Thorntree Lodge which is located 10 kilometres from Livingstone, along the Zambezi River. The six elephants - Madinda, Mushimbi, Marula, Lewa, Danny and Bop - each carry two guests on their back for morning and afternoon trips through riverine vegetation found within the Mosi Oa Tunya Park. Training techniques used by Zambezi Elephant Trails is based on the "perform and reward" method as opposed to the controversial "discipline and submission" Method commonly associated with Asian elephants.
