New services link London directly to Georgia and Norway

LONDON is to be linked to Georgia and Norway via two new services. Tblisi, the Georgian capital, will be linked non-stop to London following efforts by the UK Department of Transport and the British Embassy in Tbilisi, according to Air Business and Travel News. British Mediterranean Airways, operating as a BA franchise, will re-introduce twice weekly services from London to Tbilisi on November 1 after stopping the service 18 months ago. Trondheim, the ancient capital of Norway, will also be linked to London for the first time eliminating a connection via Oslo. Norwegian Air Shuttle, the privately owned budget carrier, is to introduce a four times weekly non-stop service from Stansted using Boeing 737-300 equipment. Earlier this year the airline introduced services from Stansted to Bergen, Oslo and Stavangar. (Lucy Siebert)
