PARLIAMENTARY committees of South Africa and Zimbabwe have decided to scrap visas between the two countries during a meeting in Harare on Wednesday, October 13. Zimbabwean newspapers quoted committee chairperson Claudious Makova as saying: “There is no security threat that could be posed by the scrapping of visas. In fact it would even be better than the present situation where people are crossing through the bush and other illegal exit and entry points to South Africa.” South African Home Affairs acknowledged that the information was true, but could not comment any further on the matter.
