Paris tours operate as normal

RIOTS have continued across France, forcing the French Government to authorise a range of emergency powers. The riots were sparked in late October at the accidental death of two teenagers who were electrocuted as they tried to flee from the police through an electrical substation. Since then, riots have taken place nightly in areas with large African and Arab communities, where residents are complaining of racism and discrimination. The US State Department has issued a warning to Americans travelling to France. Both Thompsons and Holiday Tours told TNN that their Paris tours are continuing as normal and that they are monitoring the situation. (Sue Lewitton)
