The Philippines Department of Tourism says it’s all systems go for the country’s reopening today (April 1) to fully vaccinated travellers from anywhere in the world.
Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat says the Department is optimistic about an increase in arrivals, with the latest simplification of entry requirements and the discontinuation of the requirement for an Entry Exemption Document.
However, the Department emphasises that, under the latest rulings, foreign travellers still have to be fully vaccinated and undergo either pre-departure PCR or rapid antigen testing. The PCR test result must have been obtained within 48 hours prior to travel, and the rapid antigen result within 24 hours.
Those who are unvaccinated will be subject to ‘exclusion proceedings’ and will not be allowed to visit the Southeast Asian nation.
