"IT'S 'raining prawns' is no exaggeration as Sun City prepares to provide guests with the ever-popular delicacy by the bucketful from December 1 to January 8," says the Sun International resort's food and beverage director, John Airey.
"We have scheduled the promotion in six venues - the Villa Del Palazzo, Crystal Court, and Grand Pool Deck at the Palace, the Peninsula and Harlequins.
"Prawns fit right in with the festive vibe and at the Palace Pool Deck guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a Bucket o' Prawns, either grilled or cold, served in a galvanised bucket on newspaper place mats - and bibs are also supplied."
Other items include Prawns and Smoked Duck Breast Salad with Herbed Couscous; Water Chestnuts and Kalahari truffles; Charlotte of Smoked Salmon Tartare with Prawns on a Ginger Cream dressing and a Ballotine of Prawns and Mango, wrapped in Spinach and presented with Creamed Vegetables.
Main courses include grilled Tiger Giants, Salmon Cake and Queen Prawns with an Orange and Green Peppercorn sauce on Stir- fried Vegetables and Thai-style Prawns with Veal Fillet and Newburg sauce.
