ASATA advises, via its website, that on the advice of SAA, all international flights for today should be treated as not operational at this stage. SAA says it is doing everything to get as many flights as possible to operate normally, but due to crew issues the airline often knows only an hour or two before scheduled departure if the flight will depart. In order to assist passengers who absolutely have to travel, if you are able to re-book passengers on an alternative carrier on the same routing, SAA advises that you book. It says it will re-issue and endorse the ticket to the foreign carrier at the airport. (Kate Nathan)
