THE Sheraton Pretoria Hotel has committed to a multimillion-rand investment that will upgrade every guest room with a state-of-the-art interactive TV system – VDA.
Guests can now listen to hundreds of different songs from numerous well-known artists’ albums at no additional cost. They can also surf the Internet for a nominal fee from the comfort of their room on the LCD TV screen or through wireless Internet.
The hotel will provide a wide range of recently released blockbuster movie titles from a selection of international film studios. A free preview will be available for Internet browsing and for viewing blockbuster movies. A call for payment will then follow, which guests can either refuse or accept. The charge for viewing a movie will automatically be reflected on the guest’s hotel account.
Other benefits that this interactive TV system provides include the options for guests to activate their alarm clock via the television set, receive any messages left at the hotel’s front desk or at tour operators. These will then be displayed on their television screen, where they can also view the latest information on all their hotel charges. The directory of services will also be available to view, together with additional information such as the in-room dining menu.
