Spanish tourist office opens in Jo'burg

THE Spanish Tourism Office (Turespana) has opened an office in Iberia's Sandton offices. According to Turespana's representative, Maria Menchon, the decision to set up the office was made due to the demand for information on Spain. "We are thrilled by the amount of interest shown in Spain from South Africa, but it remains surprising just how much of the vast Spanish tourism offer remains unknown to South Africans,"she said. Spain is currently the second largest tourism destination in the world behind France and attracted some 40m tourists last year. (Miguel de Sousa)
