The heights of central Switzerland

From page 8

ENGELBERG is the highest tourist mountain resort in central Switzerland, only 40 minutes from Lucerne and 70 minutes from Zurich. Nearby, Mount Titlis is a magnet for those seeking fun in the snow. It offers year- round snow and ice, along with attractions such as:  Titlis Rotair: The world’s first revolving cable car travels up to 3 020 metres above sea level, rotating 360 degrees during the five-minute trip, giving visitors panoramic views of rock faces, crevasses and mountain peaks.  Glacier Cave: The cave’s 150-metre-long walkway descends 20 metres below the surface of the glacier.  Ice Flyer: The Ice Flyer chairlift promises spectacular views, including views down the 20m-deep crevasses. It operates year round and in the summer months it takes visitors from the summit station to the Glacier Park.  Titlis Glacier Park: all kinds of fun activities are available on the glacier in summer. Snow tubing is a hit during winter.  Cliff Walk: The Titlis Cliff Walk is Europe’s highest suspension bridge and stretches high above the glacier.
