THE Bjatledi Tourist Association, situated in Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof in the Northern Province, says that those who have booked for performances at its Haenertsburg Autumn Music, Art & Cultural Festival - 'Music in the Mountains' - in April can be assured that, despite the problems being encountered by the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), the show will go on. A spokesperson for the organisation said that a selection of 70 NSO musicians and soloists have already been booked for three full performances: - Friday 28 - The Bjatledi Pops Concert - a programme of popular music - Saturday 29 - The orchestra in concert - a programme of light classic - Mozart etc. - Sunday 30 - The orchestra performing with a massed 500-strong choir. As announced last Thursday, the NSO is do be disbanded due to lack of adequate funding. (Elizabeth Sheridan)
