KWAZULU Natal Tourism Authority (KZNTA) has implemented tough new staff performance contracts that will penalise everyone from the most senior manager to janitors if they fail to perform. The system has already seen staff members sign employment contracts that allow for salary deductions of up to 25% if they fail to meet their targets or under-perform in any other way. Staff who excel will earn their full salaries, as well as qualify for possible bonuses. CEO Gareth Coleman said the initiative was key to KZNTA's five point development strategy and was designed to entrench good governance. (African Eye News Service)
