Tourism co celebrates 10 years with name change

KWAZULU Natal conservation and eco-tourism company, Msinsi Holdings, celebrated its 10th anniversary last week with a change of name and a message that it was looking to spread into the rest of South Africa. Msinsi is the Zulu name for the coral tree, whose leaves are the symbol for the UK, USA and SA Wilderness Leadership organisations. Msinsi changed its name to Msinsi Resorts and Game Reserves in line with its intention to move into the rest of the continent, said ceo, Todani Moyo. This would one day put Msinsi on a level footing with KwaZulu Natal's conservation agency, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, as protectors of biodiversity, eco-tourism managers and community empowerment project operators. Msinsi was appointed by Umgeni Water in 1993 to manage barren, species-depleted land around Shongweni Dam, outside Durban. Their success in rehabilitating the land led to them being appointed to manage Nagle, Albert Falls, Hazymere and Inanda dams as well. (African Eye News Service)
