THE White Elephant Lodge in the Pongola Game Reserve, KwaZulu Natal (KZN), has introduced a new activity together with KZN Wildlife, offering guests the opportunity to track a white rhino.
According to Classic Retreats which markets the lodge, guests will depart the lodge at first light, take a short game drive to the boat-mooring site which will then transport them to the northern section of the reserve. There the group will be met by a KZN Wildlife ranger, where a two-hour walk will start. Guests will learn more about the white rhino's social behaviour, dung middens and feeding habits as well as new bush tracking skills. The lodge is offering the rhino walk as an introductory offer at no extra charge until March 31, 2001.
